That's just part of the history, though: Google's HDR+ mode is again and works much better than it has in the past. Keep in mind, many HDR camera methods take one long visibility and then process that image to crank up the clarity and powerful range. The Pixels' HDR+ settings, meanwhile, shoot briefer exposures and fundamentally stitch them collectively, reducing the probability of hand-induced blur. Because of the extra hp afforded by the Pixel's beefy chipset and a Hexagon coprocessor, that process is a lot faster now, leading to more appealing photographs in both dim and dazzling conditions immediately. It doesn't always work if you are taking pictures rapid-fire, but on the whole this is the first HDR function I've wished to leave on on a regular basis.
Power life was middle of the pack. It can't match the extraordinary life of the Droid Razr Maxx (nearly a day), but it will get you during the day and in to the evening, easily outdoing the Galaxy Nexus. In two times of tests, battery power was actually about equivalent to that of the iPhone 4S, if not just a bit better. The Droid Razr Maxx is still the simple champ of power supply life, however.
